Corset Squee!
Friday, July 25th, 2008So, we’ve gradually been sliding into stocking corsets @ The Lockworks. We started with Asylum7, steampunky style, then as of a bit less than a month ago Dolly Q came on board, and we were amazed at the response to her awesome stuff. So much so that I realised there’s almost no way she’d be able to keep up with the demand, so I started looking into other suppliers to supplement her fantastic work. Bear in mind, I haven’t bought a corset in years, 10 years to be exact, as I’d started making corsets when I started Wildilocks - but the hair rapidly took over and there wasn’t the time any more.
The one and only corset I’ve bought was from Axfords in Brighton - I went to their factory and bought it in person, and I still have it - still in very good nick, too! This is a company that has been in business since 1880. Their styles are simple, classic and genuinely period.
So, we got our first Axfords order today. Colour me filled with squee when I tried this delightful underbust on:
I love the look of this corset - it’s incredibly comfortable and feels *so* much better than the usual hourglass overbust which is pretty much all I have otherwise! I am so glad I’ve lost enough weight to feel comfy in a corset again too - not that I had to lose weight, but because of the health stuff, everything felt very uncomfortable belly-wards.
*heart heart squee* I shall be wearing it out tomorrow night to Black Widows. Who shall be joining us? [other than miss
More pics under the cut!
